This engine was the first new pumper owned by the fire district. This pumper was ordered from American Fire Apparatus in Battle Creek, Michigan and was delivered in December of 1953. The official date that it was put into service was February 14, 1954. Engine 1 has a triple-stage 750 GPM pump with a 500 gallon booster tank. Price at time of delivery was $14,965. Engine 1 served as first due until the early 1970s and was then second due. After being renovated in the late 1970s it served as third due in 1982 and was placed on reserve status in 1984. This piece was transferred to the American Museum of Firefighting in Hudson, NY on January 29, 2001.
